Description

This manuscript is a play in four acts that follows the life of a Yemeni Princess named Wajdah. Wajdah is the heroine of the play and a 17th century princess who converts to Islam, which leads to challenges in reconciling faith and reason. There is more conflict in her life when her infant son disappears. This drama is described as one that may be a first in the portrayal of a defiant Arab woman to the English reader.
